I conduct classes for BEGINNING and INTERMEDIATE level students. Classes are normally conducted once a week for 8 weeks (i.e. 8x2 hourly sessions) and cover a wide variety of topics. The course introduces students to the process of methodical research, provides examples of the many various records used and informs students of the methods used to locate the records for both Australian and Overseas (mainly England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland) research. Cost saving methods and the availability of resources, housed in the local area, are also explained.
These are usually of 3-4 hour duration, and can be arranged to suit most topics related to family history. They are suitable for Family History Groups who are having an activity day, school groups, family reunions, as a fund raiser, or for any group of people interested in tracing their family tree.
I am an accredited Genealogist and Record Agent and regularly undertake research on behalf of clients. I specialise in all aspects of New South Wales research and, apart from my own extensive library, I have access to all major repositories. No research project is too small or too large. All research is carried out in total confidence and cli ents are supplied with a fully referenced report and detailed accounts. The client is always advised of costs involved and no work is conducted without prior consent.
As a consultant I have been called on to assist clients who have reached a brick wall with their own research. I have been able to advise alternative steps available which they have been unaware of. If you are hanging from a limb with your research, a consultation could be the answer. It is surprisingly inexpensive and nearly always allows you to continue with your own research!
I think this speaks for itself. I am willing to be a guest speaker for any organisation which expresses an interest in Family History and Family History Research. Many groups are looking for someone to speak to them about something different. Why not give Family History a try! Naturally, I am also available to speak to Family History Groups on a wide variety of topics associated with family history.
